GENERAL ELECTRIC SENOCLAIRE mammograph (2011) with 3D TOMOSYNTHESE upgrade (2015) AND DETECTOR (changed in 2018).
SenoClaire from GE*
Breast tomosynthesis is a three-dimensional imaging technology that uses a short uses a short scan of low-dose x-rays around the compressed breast with just nine exposures.
SenoClaire offers superior sensitivity for architectural distortions and masses, giving you greater clinical confidence while delivering the same amount of dose as a digital mammography acquisition of the same view.
The SenoClaire detector delivers a high DQE at low dose for visualisation of
microcalcifications without binning, a process that groups pixels together for faster improved read speeds and signal-to-noise ratios, but with reduced image quality.
– The step-by-step movement of the tube preserves the sharpness of the microcalcification and avoids image blurring, as the tube comes to a complete stop for each of the nine exposures.
This provides a higher peak contrast for microcalcifications than continuous tube movement.
– An anti-scatter solution designed for tomosynthesis, the SenoClaire 3D grid reduces scattered radiation and improves 3D detectability for breasts of above-average thickness, while preserving dose and performance.
– SenoClaire uses ASiRDBT, an iterative reconstruction algorithm that produces FFDM-like images and has a positive impact on the visibility of microcalcification compared with the traditional Filtered Back Projection (FBP) algorithm.
